How we help
Besides providing students with a great place to work and free access to multimedia and digital video computer systems and software, the SMS provides support for students working on presentation project assignments in several ways.
SMS tutorials and other online resources
If you want help with a project assigned here at KSU, you should start with one of the many online TUTORIALS provided on this website. They are easy to follow, step-by-step guides that can walk you through the entire project, provide important troubleshooting tips and, most importantly, save you a trip to the library.
You can, and should also get into the habit of using the Help search engine and related tutorials available with the software that you're using.
Finally, Google can be an invaluable resource for finding complete tutorials or just finding the answer to the one problem you might be having.
On-call support
For those students who still need help, the SMS has multimedia consultants who are available to help you. You don't need an appointment ... just come in! Please note that due to the pandemic, we will continue to recommend physical distancing or wearing masks if distancing is not an option.
Jobs at the SMS
The Student Multimedia Studio employs a team of Student Consultants to assist in the operations of the makerspace. To apply for a job at the SMS, visit the Jobs for Students page on the University Libraries website.
