Abstract: This collection includes information from the cultural self-study undertaken by the university in the late 1990s.
History of KSU Cultural Self-Study:
In 1997, Kent State University initiated a Cultural Research Project to better understand its organizational culture. A Cultural Self-Study Advisory Committee was created and the services of a third party, Cultural Research, Inc. from Winnipeg, Canada, were secured to conduct the analysis. Cultural Research, Inc. compiled a six volume approximately 1800 page report with their findings. The advisory committee was then tasked with reviewing the results and making recommendations on how to address the findings.
Scope and Content:
The collection includes background information on the project printed from the university website circa 2004, the six volume report created by Cultural Research Inc. in March 1998, and the follow-up recommendations report made by the advisory committee in April 1999.
Statement of Arrangement: The collection is organized by subject matter.
Preferred Citation: Kent State University Cultural Self-Study records. Kent State University Libraries. Special Collections and Archives.
