Biographical Note: Alma L. Gray, born in West Virginia, lived and wrote in Akron, Ohio, for over 65 years. She was past president and charter member of the Akron Manuscript Club, and member of the Ohio Poetry Society, the Ohio Historical Society, DAR, Zonta International, the American Presswomen, and other organizations. She was former poet laureate of Ohio, and nationally recognized writer of gospel songs. She died on May 2, 1982.


Scope and Content: This collection consists of typescripts of 44 short stories (some in several drafts), miscellaneous correspondence, and some printed material. Most of this material is undated.
