Biography of Stuart P. Taylor
Stuart P. Taylor (1939-) is a Kent State University Professor Emeritus of psychological sciences. He was an Associate Professor of psychology at the time of the shootings on May 4, 1970. Taylor worked with doctoral candidates, Richard Shuntich, Leslie McGovern, and Robert Genthner, in creating a detailed questionnaire sent to Kent State University students, undergraduate and graduate. The purpose of this questionnaire was to determine the attitudes and reactions of all students during the week of May 4, 1970 and to assess for the future. The results of the completed and returned questionnaires were analyzed and later published in his book entitled, Violence at Kent State: May 1 to 4, 1970 The Students' Perspective. Taylor has published several studies researching aggressions while also teaching at Kent State University for over thirty years.
