Conclusion
1968-1970 would bring an escalation of student and community protest actions not only in Jackson, Orangeburg, and Kent, but also at a national level. The Vietnam War continued and expanded, and American citizens of color on the homefront were still fighting for equal rights and an end to segregation and discriminatory practices throughout society.
