Scope and Content: This collection consists of photographs taken by Jack Davis in May, 1971. The pictures include views of property in Kent, Ohio that were in the path of Haymaker Parkway, a planned bridge and bypass around downtown Kent. During the 1960s, rail traffic was heavy and interrupted the flow of traffic through Main Street (SR59). In the early 1970s, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) developed and constructed the bypass to aleviate traffic congestion and to improve emergency response by the fire and police departments in the City.
