Biography: Harvey Saalberg was a professor of journalism at Kent State University from 1967- 1974. Before teaching at Kent he taught at West Essex Hight School in North Caldwell, New Jersey; Central High School in Omaha, Nebraska. He began his teaching career at Byers Junior High School in Denver Colorado. He completed an internship at the Columbia Daily Tribune in Columbia, Missouri for a semester during 1966/67. Saalberg retired in August 1974.
Scope and Content: Harvey Saalberg's papers include 2 folders of material regarding the Portage County Mental Health and Mental Retardation Board and correspondence relating to a proposed program called National Service Corps for young men that could be used in place of the draft.
