Biography: James Nuber was an undergraduate student at Kent State University in the 1970s, including at the time of the Kent State shootings on May 4, 1970. He served as a Student Senator, Executive Assistant to the Student Body President, chairperson of the Executive Board of the Life Center, and was involved with the Center for Peaceful Change. Nuber was also a member of many national organizations dedicated to ending the Vietnam War. He graduated from Kent State with a degree in business administration in 1977.
Scope and Content: The James Nuber papers contain records from national and Kent State University organizations related to, or created in response to the Kent State shootings and the Vietnam War. Organizations represented in this collection include the Center for Peaceful Change, Inter-Faith Task Force, Kent Reform Council, Life Center, Peace Brigade, Young Voters for Peace, and the Kent State University Student Government. The papers provide information on student involvement in activism nationally and at Kent State in the aftermath of the Kent State shootings.
