Metadata & Cataloging
The mission of the Kent State University Library’s Metadata & Catalog Department is to provide timely and accurate description, online access and physical preparation to the Library’s collections in order to serve the University’s information needs. We do this through cataloging, classifying, assigning access points, providing authority control and database maintenance.
We also complete one-time and ongoing projects that help to ensure the quality of online records and our collections. Recent examples include adjusting our holdings in an international database (OCLC WorldCat), changing material types to match the format of material, relocating library materials, and combining descriptive records across campuses (Unionization).
If you are having a problem accessing library materials, please use the Ask Us link to contact a librarian.
