Connect from Off-Campus
Off-campus access to University Libraries’ electronic resources is provided through a service known as KSU Proxy.
How to use KSU Proxy for off-campus access
- Begin your research at University Libraries' website.
- Any links to resources you find through the library’s major search tools -- Discovery@Kent, KentLINK, Journal Finder, or Databases A-Z -- will prompt you to login to the proxy if you haven’t already done so.
- That’s it!
You can also add the proxy prefix to any URL for electronic resources provided by University Libraries: https://proxy.library.kent.edu/login?url=
Adding this prefix to a URL will send you to the Kent State login page before redirecting you to the URL. This works well if you want to bookmark a resource you use frequently!
Linking to library resources in Canvas
To direct-link to a library resource in Canvas, add the following prefix to the beginning of each URL you link to: https://proxy.library.kent.edu/login?url=
As long as you’ve included this prefix with each URL, students should not need to login a second time to access the resource.
